Teachers should be life-long learners, who consistently gather research and actively participate in improving their understanding of their content area as well as their duty as a teacher. Teachers should reflect on their teaching methods and their effectiveness, and make decisions based on their practice. Teachers should be involved in work-shops, seminars, webinars, and blogs that value professional learning opportunities.
Education NextÂ
This journal provides a steady course through school reform by presenting evidence-based research, ideas, and arguments focused on American K-12 education. The journal includes blogs, studies, podcasts, and news.
Professional Development TrainingÂ
During my internship working with 7th graders, I participated in a Professional Development Training on school shootings. This was a three-hour training that went into detail about what to do in the case of a school threat. We were able to ask questions, discuss with other teachers, and practice sheltering in place and locking down.
I also did Professional Development trainings on Diversity and Inclusion, SOL testing, and Co-teaching.
